how does the hsf on the 7800gtx work?

I'm curious, does it pull air from the sides of the cooler and exhaust it out the hole where the fan is, or is it the opposite way?

I thought it sucked it in through the fan, and blew it through the fins out towards the end of the card? LOL not very visual (well for me it is in my head)

I see what you're saying, but is it like that, or the other way?

Should be the other way. In thru the fan and out the side. At least that's my professional engineering opinion. Maybe someone that actually has one can confirm.
