So I'm headed out to Boston for the summer, and I'm going to be taking my desktop with me. How would you all recommend shipping it? I've never done major transportation before with it, so I'm moderately clueless.

/And I wasn't certain where to put this. Mods, feel free to be Gods if I'm in the wrong place.

Well, how are you getting there? If you're driving, I'd say just pack it up and take it with you. No need to incur a separate shipping charge.

If driving either remove the gpu or transport tower cases on their side. Empty water loops.

i would assume he/she is flying since they are considering shipping

if it was mine, i would spend the 30 minutes or so to break it down and package it well

actually knowing what i know now, i would leave it behind, no risk of damage, and it would actually do you some good to unplug for the summer, you might even meet a girl

Alright. Break it down, ship components separately, lots of padding.

/And I would leave it behind, but my laptop is in yet another long, slow meltdown, and I need to have a working computer with me.
