Ok...heres the problem. I want to buy a 1gb stick of ram for my comp.. I dont know if there are certain types that will only work on certain comp. I have a Dell Dimension 4550. If you could tell me what type of ram i need to buy that would be great thanks!
 
You should be careful. The 4550 came in both 400Mhz and 533Mhz versions.
You should download CPUz and check out which one you have.

here are some links to your two types of memory on crucial.com.. you should really check elsewhere because the prices suck there. hmmmm... and it doesn't look like crucial sells a 1GB 533 part... at least not on their website.

stone, your post makes no sense. there's no such thing as ddr533. crucial is saying that the 4550 is ddr.. though not sure why we only see ddr266 and ddr333 though.
