How does a WC setup ride in a car?

After thinking about driving the 15 hours to quakecon and potentially having my pc watercooling installed before then, I wondered, how does a WC setup ride to and from places? Is it super delicate and should only be moved once in a while? I figure if I do a good job of hooking stuff up that it should be just fine. Anyone had issues transporting to a lan or a friends house or anything?

I've been wondering about this too, but more for the 12 hour drive I'll be taking to get home at the end of August.

What I'm thinking is that if you have everything secured properly, and there's no chance that your res/t-line will leak or let air get into the system, then things should be fine. Your case will be heavier, but shouldn't pose a problem if cushioned, secured, etc in the vehicle.

Someone else probably has a better answer.

i'd bring it externally to that PC case if possible, get there a day earlier to make sure everything runs right. Also bring some spare good quality heatsinks, seriously just in case, or you could be out of the fun :\. i mean it really is a long trip.. with bumps..

i take my rig to lan games all the time... never have any trouble with it... as was said.. make shure your T line/res and fitting dont leak and you'll be ok.. my ehiem is bolted right the the case, and my water block is secured with the mounting screws... if you water block uses the socket latches... you might as well yank it out because the weight might just be enought to pull the scocket right off the board (i remeber this happening back in the day... but havent heard of anything receint) and make shure your rad isnt gonna come loose and bust up your cards... in my case.. the rad is heald in place by plexy glass in the fron of the case and is samwitched between a cdrom and the bottom of the case... it isnt going any where... (just short of a sledge hammer)

now... if you have more than just your cpu cooled... (im thinking vid card here) it might be wise to remove the block and tie it back else where with 3 or 4 zip ties... it isnt so much a problem with the block comeing loose as it would be the card getting yanked out of the socket and flopping around inside the case...

my setup has been driven from MN to IL with no problems four times, and been to 20+ lan parties.

Do you stand the case up during transport, or lay it on its side, so that the weight of the expansion cards presses them into their PCI/AGP slots?

I have been to 10+ lan parties my cpu and gpu are w/c'd and never had one leak
case standing up and laying down

I've had it ride standing and on its side, but its usually on its side, but thats with air cooling. I was just curious to know if there were problems transporting a WC pc more than air cooling.
