How do you replace a degraded disk with Napp-it

I found a degraded disk, and I then added spare and chose to replace the degraded drive with the spare. Is this what I was suppose to do or did I screw that up as I don't see a way to remove the degraded disk. Remove option only shows the spares.

Please advise, I getting stressed out about this.

Thanks

You cannot remove a disk (even a failed one) from a pool.

Correct way:
- insert a new disk (if your system is not hotplug capable, you need a poweroff/ reboot)
- call menu disks - replace (failed disk >> new disk)
- unplug the failed disk (if your system is not hotplug capable, you need a poweroff/ reboot)

Thanks for the help Gea.

As it turns out during the resilvering process, it found more issues. And when it tries to recover, my openindiana/nappit on esxi crashes.

What would you recommend be my course of action.

The setup is a 8+2 raidz2 setup. It seems like there are 2+ bad disks now. I have incorrectly configured it to have 2 spares, so everytime I start, it tries to resilver the 2 known bad disks, and in the process causes the crashes. What I wanted to do was to replace the two bad disks, now its stuck as being a spare.

If one of the failed disk is the problem: remove the disk
If one of the spare is the problem: remove the disk

Maybe your problem is completely different (cabling or power problem)

ps
If more than two disks are missing, your pool is offline and not accessable.
If one disk come back, your pool remains ok in a degraded state.
