How do you remember...

What did you use to associate with Aperture Priority and Shutter Priority?

I sometimes get the higher and lower numbers messed up.

Nothing really. All you have to remember is aperture is smaller#=shallowDoF and larger#=LongerDoF so if you want to make it easy. Small=Shallow, Larger=Longer.

Shutter is too easy. Bigger the number faster it is. Smaller the number slower, and when you get those little " then you know you are into the fat seconds.

It always helped me to think of aperture like a fraction. Stick a 1 over the f-stop and now the smallest number is the largest; an easy way to memorize the reversal. In reality, the "f" stands for focal length, and when you divide the focal length by the f-stop number, you get the diameter of the aperture.
