Intel core names are getting odder and odder and so i'm trying to figure out how to prounounce them so i don't like like a complete idiot. (e.g i thought the Opteron was proundounce Opter ton) so yeah.

How do you pronounce Yonah? - I say it like Jonah but with a Y.

Merom - i say it like Mer om

Conroe - Con roe (con like convict)

Banias (ba ni us) - ba as in baby, ni as in ni and us.

Cause ya, i've heard it several ways. I know Dothan is pronounced Dothan b/c the guy read the Bible and said DO Thin. But the rest i'm not sure.
 
Banias is pronounced "baanyas". Technically, Dothan is pronounced "dotan", though I refuse to say it myself that way.

Yeah I've always said Bane-e-us but I think it's actually supposed to be pronounced Ban-eye-us.

No, its ""baanyas", as I said. Its a location in Israel. All the Pentium M codenames are Israeli.

Yonah - Donut

Merom - Moron

Conroe - Cornrow

Banias - Banana
 
This-Topic-Is-Silly.. er I mean.. I speak english, so I use what I was taught in school to pronounce these words. Or I look on google.. but I don't talk to people about specific cores too often... and when I do, it's AMD, so it's easier.

Banias (Banyas) - A falls at the northern region of Israel
Dothan (Dotan) - A valley near or inside the West Bank
Yonah (Jonah) - From the Bible
Merom (Me-rom) - A mountain at the northern region of Israel near Mt. Hermon

Banias = Bahn-yis Like Auto Banh in Germany, Vally of Pan
Dothan = DAW-Thun also Do' Thun The other side of the mountain.
Yonah = just like Jonah and the whale Yo'-Nah not JOE-na, Double Whells
Merom = Mee-RUM Not like CD-ROM near Mt. Hermon.

The easiest is Conroe, Con-Row.
