With a POS Phoenix bios that came stock on an HP system?

It's got a AMD XP1800+ that I wanna fool around with *evil laugh*

i had an old HP. You need to get a new BIOS for it.

Also make sure that AMD is unlocked or you have a no-go. And just me personally its not worth the hassle to unlock a CPU unless it faster than 2.17

1. Read on of the millions of overclocking tutorials posted on this convenient little tool called "the internet".

2. Read your motherboard manual.

It was made before the black date, I'm cool :)

Any BIOS suggestions???

read the Tweak Guide section on BIOS Optimization Guide after you've flashed your BIOS up. ;)

You can't overclock because...

[_] You've never been to Google.com
[_] You think FSB stands for Fried Sausage and Bacon
[_] You have an HP or Compaq
[_] You failed elementary school math and you're confused by a "multiplier".

Please mark the appropriate box and get back to us.

Where did you hear this??? You can still overclock a locked AMD processor by raising the fsb.
