how do you enable reverse stereo in xp?

i use the ac97 onboard audio and my speakers and headphones seems to be in reverse stereo. if they would be any way in xp to enable/disable it, i could mess with it to find the correct settings. thx for your answers.
 
it happened in games and winamp. but now the problem is fixed. I just dont use the front panel speaker slot anymore :X

That tells me that you wired the audio header on backwards.
