So I stepped out and finally bought my first lcd ever. The Samsung 712N. Anyway how do I clean the screen cuz i dont think windex would be the best choice.
 
i dont know? i dont use windex, i use orange scented windex for all my lcds, but yeah, i just use windex, doesnt seem to cause any problems yet
 
Windex will wipe some special anti glare coatings and other types of coating like that right off. I just use plain water and a paper towel. Works like a charm.
 
If you talk to the company TEC guys they all recommend a “micro fiber” cloth for long term preservation of the screen surface. I have been using Monster Screen cleaner which comes with a really nice version of the proper cloth. You get a lifetime supply of the stuff and when you use it you can feel the screen become smoother as you wipe. It also prevents additional dust gathering on the surface.

Works great on TV’s, LCD, CRT and glasses as well ;)
 
Where is a good place to buy one of these "micro fiber cloths"? I've been looking for something to clean my LCD's with. I was always told to use water/alcohol mixed 50/50. Dell recommends it too. At least that's what they told me to use on my laptop's screen.
 
Be careful with Windex, Windex has ammonia in it.. it will clear everything off the top layer at first spray and even deteriorate the screen over time! just use plain old water or a damp rage/cloth
 
Most all manufactures tell you to use a lightly dampen soft, clean cloth with water. and to avoid any cleaning agents.
 
I think eye glass stores sell micro-fiber cloths for fairly cheap (or atleast cheaper than you would find at an electronics store), so you might want to check there. I know I have some special cloth for my glasses, I just can't remember exactly what they called it when I bought it. I have cloth that came with my laptop that is "microfiber" and it looks pretty similar to me.
