I would like to apply for a modship. I have been a member since late 2003 and I know what it takes and what is expected of a mod. How do I go about doing this?

Asking for it is usually a sure sign of never getting it. ;) If they want you, they will ask you. It doesn't work the other way around.

For one thing, im not asking, im inquiquiring, but thanx for wasting my time with your response.

Sweet. You know I love wasting people's time by responding. btw.. what is the difference between asking and inquiring? They're quite similar in my dictionary.

If you really want a serious answer out of this thread then cut out the flamebait. Honestly, I'm not here to argue with you.

Sigh, ill just ask (inquire) Kyle. I dont know why I posted here anyways.

Wow, play nice everyone! The whole deal with modships MGDMN, is that if other mods/admins find that you excel in expertise in a specific subject/forum, and they find that those current forums are in need of extra moderating, then they'll inquire about you becoming a mod. I do think you go through an examination kind of process though, I believe another user was asked to become a moderator and was told he was going to be 'tested' as you will.

That is EXACTLY the response I was looking for. Thank you very much man.

The Admins choose the moderators based observation of members on the forum and on imput from other moderators. They are chosen for their outstanding participation and helpfulness to others....also the ability to get along with other members ;)

Haha, I am sorry guys. I was out of line and I know it. Thanx for the replies everyone.

I will add that it's very much a "don't call us, we'll call you" system - I didn't know my selection was in train until it had basically already happened

Also, "running for mod" is kind of like "running for Pope" - there are certain things you should do, but you need to make it look like you're doing those things not for the sake of being promoted, if that makes any sense

Haha...yeah nothing like logging in one day and go to post a reply and it says close thread after post/sticky thread after post at the bottom

Back on topic, the answer was given and it's "Don't call us, we'll call you" if we need a new moderator, you'll be the first to know ;)
