How do you all benchmark?

I was just curious what you all do to benchmark. I've got my second card coming today for SLI and wanted to run some benches to compare before and after, but I hace no idea how to record results. Can anyone tell me how to benchmark with all the newer games like HL2, COD2, BF2, B&W2, FEAR, FarCry, AOE3, and any others you can think of? Any help is appriciated...even if you can only provide info for one game.

You're probably thinking more along the lines of the standardized time demos, but if you want to record performance during realtime gaming (the only performance that really matters), just use FRAPS to record your framerate for however long a period of gaming you want. Then, you can even use the saved excel log to look at various averages, maxes, mins, and graph the data if you want to.

Obviously this method won't be an exact comparison to other systems as it'll depend on how much stress the particular run through puts on the card, but it'll give a very good idea.

Nah we mostly use dedicated benchmark progrmas such as the 3d mark series or aquamar, i cant thin k of any others! I personnaly think that unless theres a button to press like counter strike: source or f.e.a.r. then its too complicated to benchmark with that game!! lol

3dmark/aquamark are for stat whore n00bs. Use time demos if you are really serious about it.
