i have a small 92mm fan with 3 wires attached to a 3 pin female connector (1 yellow, 1 red, 1 black) how would i rearrange em to run at 7 volts?

thanks!!

You don't on a 3 pin header. On that the red is +12V the black is ground anf the yellow is tach. lead.

You'd hve to get a 3-pin to molex converter and hook the black wire for the fan to the red wire on the molex.

+12V minus +5V equals 7V

made this awhile back for someone else

read the above post for explanation

hm thanks for the pictures and explainations but just to make sure heres how it looks for far:

fans black wire -> 4pin molex's black wire

fans red wire -> 4pin molex's yellow wire

so to make this 7 volt work:

fans black wire -> 4pin molex's red wire

fans red wire -> 4pin molex's yellow wire (same)

is that correct? thanks for the help just making sure, dont want to blow anything up lolz

hmm also how should i reconnect the wires should i just strip the outer rubber skin then reconnect and patch it up with electricity tape?

thanks
