how do u change signal timing

ok, for counter-strike source, i was messing around and thought it would be cool to play it at 19XX x 14XX (i dont remember the exact numbers) resolution. and i have a 19 inch monitor so i think it could handel it. now i get a message saying

"signal frequency is out of range
fh>112khz
fv>75hz
please change signal timing"

how do u change signal timing? i cant change it back because thats the only thing that pops up when i load the game, the rest of the screen is black.................
 
Isn't there an option in every display driver where you can tweak the timings?
 
If its only happening when starting the game, either edit the games config file or delete it.
