a 3 pin fan? as in what kind of tool removes the female connector? the only thing i saw was the 40 buck multiple tool kit on frozen, but i was wondering if there was a ghetto way to do it?

oh ya, 1 more thing... i hate ribbon cables. I just got the audigy 2z plat and the connection between the pci sound card and the front pannel, well 1 of the connections is the dreaded gray ribbon cable... I'm not really sure i want to ghetto mod it (ie cut it twist it, sleeve it) is there a rounded cable that goes for that?

You can use a mini-screwdriver to do this. Use the flat head, push in the metal pins, and the wires should come right out.

Any slim implement--a toothpick, paper clip, nail, tweezers, etc.

ok, and since i've never sleeved before, how do i put them back?

You can use whatever you are using, stick it between the pin, where it was bent, and bend it back up.
