How do I set up profiles witn CCC?

I tried following a tutorial but I am confused. After I set my AA and AF how I want it and save the profile how do I go back to the default setting for just regular use? For instance, if I make a profile for GTR 2, save it and go back into CCC all my adjustments are still there. Does that mean if I fire up CSS or something my setting for GTR 2 will also be applied for CSS?
