How do I restore current RAID settings if I reset CMOS?

I built my first RAID(mirror) setup a couple months ago and I'm wondering if I should be aware of anything in particular before resetting the CMOS on my mobo.

Obviously I would have to set the SATA mode in BIOS to RAID again but would I have to tinker with the RAID controller(Intel Rapid Storage RAID controller) again as well? If so, will I be able to restore my current RAID settings without an issue? I peek around the RAID controller menu and I can't seem to find an option for that. If I need to create a RAID volume again, will it retain the files on my RAID drive?

Otherwise is there anything else I should be aware of?

Thanks

Unplug the drives in your RAID array from the motherboard before you turn the system on after clearing the CMOS and don't plug them back into the motherboard until after you've changed the BIOS back to RAID mode. They may have changed it, but as of a few years ago starting the computer with AHCI mode active instead of RAID would delete / change the RAID configuration data that's written to the drives which takes the drives out of the array.

RAID-1 is a little safer since the data is on both drives and they'll work outside of the array. I think you can create a RAID-1 array without losing your data if done in Windows (not sure about at the BIOS level).
