How do I remove multiple internet adapter listings?

I uninstalled and installed the same ethernet adapters (wireless internet connection) and it now shows "Wireless Internet Connection 3, however I renamed it taking off the three. But, when I go into something like winipcfg where it tells me what all my adapters are (including the 1394 adapter), it shows 3 of the same listings of the same ethernet adapter I have. But, If you go into "my Network places" it doesn't show it. I think maybe there's some kind of registry file or something that is causing my other 2 adapters to be hidden or something because I uninstalled and installed so many times.
