WEll my friend sent me this movie that is in SVCD format. It is a folder and then a CD1 and a CD2 folder inside. Inside of the CD1 and CD2 folders are compressed folders and "Rxx" files. The "xx" in "Rxx" are numbers. How do watch this?

Also if I wanted to burn this to a CD-R so I can watch it on my DVD player, how would I do that?

You have a SVCD that has been broken into parts via a popular archiving program called WinRAR(free trial download). It will also put the parts back together into one file, which if it is an SVCD, you will have to burn it to CD or emulate via a drive emulation program such as Nero ImageDrive or Alcohol 120%

unrar the files then you should see a bin/cue file after that you have a few options you can go get daemon tools and mount the bin file and play it with like windvd etc or you can get a program and conver the bin/cue file to mpeg format personally i like daemon tools it's free easy and mounts a virtual dvd drive or whatever you want very handy that way just delete the rar files and you can mount the bin/cue file whenver you want happy happy if you want check out www vcd quality com take out the spaces it will show you all the releases dont ask where you can get them that is bad and I would have to kill you but my rig in my sig doesn't have 2.5tb for no reason

Cool thanks...I will try to use the Daemon Tools method...

There are 21 RAR files in CD1...Is there a faster way of unrarring them instead of doing them one by one? Also they are all named the same thing, is this normal?

I am having trouble unrarring since they are all named the same thing...When I look in Winrar, they are suppose to have a .r00, .r01, and so on at the end of them. But with Windows explorer, all I see them end in is .rar with no other ending to separate them. Help!

Help...I really wanna watch this damn movie but can't figure out how to do it!

you only need to open the file that ends in rar. Winrar will look in the directory and find all the other files with .rxx and it will putthem together. so what you see inside of winrar is what is inside of all the .rxx files combined together. just drag the contents from the winrar window or click extract, and winrar will take the files that you need out of all the the rxx files so you can use them.

After you've uncompressed them you can goto www.vcdgear.com (its free)and get the vcdgear program which will convert the cue/bin file to MPEG then you can use nero to burn the svcd and watch it on your home dvd

easy as pie

99.9% of the time the group will have one main rar double click that and it will extract to one folder if not click first one hold down shift click last one that will highligh them all then goto unrar all to one folder :) easy

and yes windows you will not see the #'s sometimes windows is just gay like that but if you go back and look at them i don't know if you used a ftp program i do like flashfxp you can see all the #'s but that isn't importand when you unrar them in one big group you are fine bro happy vcding :)

YAY!!!...TY to all that helped...It worked...

Anways, now that I extracted from the main RAR, can just delete everything else and keep that folder with the BIN and CUE in it? Or do I still need them?

If I were you I'd just extract the one large file from the disc and rename it <whatever>.mpg, that way you can save it to a folder somewhere, provided you have the space. Then you won't have to mount it to play it. But yes, there is no reason to keep the RAR files once you have the BIN and CUE extracted.

Yes once you have the bin/cue file you do not need the rars you can save the space personally i keep the rars * cough i send them around cough * so i well ... yes to answer your question

Happy Friday everybody :D

Also I just encountered a new SVCD that I couldn't figure out how to uncompress properly...

It have two CDs. Each CD has 50 different compressed NRG files. I don't see a "main" RAR or anything. How do I extract this? Also how would I go aobut burning this SVCD?
