So, I know I've seen it in some thread before, but how exactly is this done. I know it's a variation in use of different sandpapers but what grits do you guys use?

I'm actually more interested in lapping my newly aquired aluminum for my next case build, but I figured the techniques would be the same for copper and aluminum except for maybe not starting at such a low grit.
