I have a USB 2.0 PCI card, and i know this is 2.0 becasue it said so on the box (cheap generic, but 2.0 nonetheless :p) But when i try to plug in my mp3 player i get this message "this device will perform faster on a USB 2.0 slot". Its already plugged into a 2.0 slot. :confused:

So is this a USB 2.0 PCI card or not?

yea it is usb 2.0 if it says that but it wont function as usb 2.0 until you install service pack 1 from microsoft.
 
If you plug in a high-speed USB device into a non-high-speed USB port, the New Hardware Found popup will say so. That's how I knew, anyway. I plugged in my 256MB Sandisk Mini Cruzer.

Exactly. I know this device is a USB2.0 but somehow the popup say that it can perform better if plugged into a USB2.0 port. :confused: It IS a usb2.0 port. :mad:
 
Service Pack 1 comes with a USB 2.0 host controller. You can find it in the device manager and just start double-clicking and clicking stuff. You'll get it to install eventually. :p
 
Look above, you have unrecognised audio controler, is it your mp3 player that needs drivers?
