How do I get rid of taskbar "notification" "pop up"?

To make a long story short, I use multiple desktops and switch between them often. I also like to keep the taskbar hidden. Ok, so, when I switch to a desktop some applications "demand" attention and give me the "pop up" notification you see in the image below. I don't know what the technical term for it is.

So, how do I suppress this behaviour?

I am using Windows 7 64bit.
