How do I Force Resolution?

Hey All,
I did something not too smart. I built my mom a new machine, and put in a radeon 9600se vid card into an msi kt3 mb. Well, instead of installing the drivers for the card and then upping the resolution, i just upped the resolution to 1280x1024. Now whenever windows starts up, I get a blank screen and the monitor says, "out of range" how do i fix this? Is there a key i can hold to reset it to 640x480? safe mode won't work either. thanks a ton guys.

After the post screen press F8, it'll go into safe mode and you can select your resolution.

safe mode won't work. it still says, "out of range." anyone know a key to force the default resolution?

Ok then, press F8 and use VGA Mode.
