I've been playing Half-Life Episode1 on my PC. I set the resolution to 1920X1080 & it looks awesome. Problem is, every so often a wave rolls up the scrren. What cuasing this? I'm playing on a Samsung 1080p DLP. I'm running the game with a 7800Gt GPU (just one). I would like to play at this res but if i can't fix this problem I'll have to go back to 1360X768. Thanks for all the help.

How Do I Fix In Game Screen Wave???

If I had to guess I'd say vsync...when you turn that off it almost looks like an annoying wave that keeps rolling up the screen. Might that be it?
Yes Vsync is enabled. Without Vsync theres little tear lines that pop up. Vsync fixed that. The problem I'm having is a thicker "wave" type roll. Around the center of the screen. It rolls upward but it's not constant. I've been playing now at 1360X768 & I haven't noticed it.
Could it be my PC can't handle the game at that res (1920X1080)?

It could also be interferance or your monitor not getting enough juice. My office monitor's lousy and whenever I have the res cranked, metal objects make the display wavy.
In my college days, my old 20" CRT went nuts at higher resolutions, but when I moved it worked fine. Either there was magnetic interferance all over the place or the outlets were old.
Try this and see what happens - make a cell phone call and put the phone up the monitor at that res. Most CRT's go absolutely crazy and I've seen LCD's and plasmas do the same.
