How do I determine .exe files in taskmanager?

How do Ietermine the good and bad .exe files in the take manager and delete the ones that are bad?

Sadly, to my knowledge there is no one quick way. But the best way IMO is to just use google. Type the processes name in google and 9 times out of 10 you will find the answer.

What exactly do you mean when you say bad files?

My computer said it has a virus. And I have run it through Adaware, spybot, and Trendmicro to have it scanned. However, on my second computer, used as a reference, there are ~2 .exe files that I don't see where they go-. So I'm looking to see if the infected computer is having a exe file running.

Download Process Explorer from Microsoft (Sysinternals)

It should give you all the information about the processes you need.

if i was you i would just reformat. infections can be stubborn and no matter what you do some little trace of them might still be around (but then again i havnt had one for years so i dont know how easy it is to take care of em now adays)

i would move all your important stuff you wana keep (music, movies, games, CLEAN program installers, etc) to a folder or another harddrive and then completely reformat

but then again thats just me. i like a good ol refresher once in a while
