Do I need to install a special type of hardware to view my CPU's temp? Its not like I'm overclocking or anything, but I would like to see what it is. Do motherboards have this standard now?

You can view it in the BIOS of almost any motherboard built in the last few years. Usually under Hardware Monitor. There are many utilities that will monitor this temp for you in Windows. I have an ASUS board and use PC Probe for example..

You can also get a hardware device that will monitor it for you such as the Hardcano

You'll have to put a probe under your CPU, but it's not much trouble for the convenience of always having your temps on hand.

most motherborad manufactors incudle programs to check your temps on their driver cd...for example intel...ausus...abit...etc

What motherboard do you have? It would help.

Thanks

Nearly ALL motherboards have it as standard. Motherboard Monitor I use for all my clients. I have them report to me on the temps weekly. Good tool.

Unfortunately, our old Dell doesnt have a temp monitor. MBM wont even work with it.
