I want to figure out how strong my power supply is...how can I do this?
 
Tell us what you have and we may be able to help. Otherwise look at the FAQ just a few post up. That will help a bunch.
 
its best to "check" a PSU with a multimeter under the load its supposed to be powering
alternately you figure up that load, then adjust the rating the supply lists to the operating temperature it will be running at

unfortunately there are no rules regarding the claims PSU manufacturers can make
thus they skew the numbers quite a bit, a few even lie

which is why we are here, we keep up on their latest tricks as much as possible
what supply is it?
