I assume you mena a stand alone DVD player...

you will need to convert/re-encode them to a mpg-2 (DVD-compliant files), and then author a DVD.

there used to be some DVD players that would play AVI's, but if i remember correctlty they were expensive and quite rare.

a good place for tutorials/how-to's and software that will perfporm the tasks you require, read here

Multi format DVD players are a lot more common now, and no longer expensive.

There are several Divx to DVD programs out there, but I really haven't messed with any of them. Xvid vid is ok, on a typical sized computer screen, but on something larger like a television, I prefer DVD quality.

dvix2dvd is what i use. Its made by that company. I think thats its new name in that link. Works great but it does covert your xvid so its a little more grainy but no one seems to mind on any of the dvds i have.
