I come back to school from winter break to find that my system won't boot.. and I tracked it down to the video card... and this is what I found

The last contact on the far right side looks as if it was burned... it's all loose and it's black underneath. I never took out the video card since I installed it 3 months ago.
My motherboard is an Epox 8RDA+

any ideas?

I'd suggest RMAing it...

Yep, already sent in an RMA request email to ATI... who knows how long that will take though.

I beleive its a 10-day turn around with ATi.

Sounds about right. I hope there won't be a problem with repairing/replacing it though... if they can't repair it, I don't necessarily like getting a 9600pro in return.. but it won't be a huge deal.

couple of questions...

you didn't leave it on I hope while you were gone

did anyone stay on campus whilst you were away?

the obvious solution is to RMA it obviously but just curious

well when your RMA returns tell us what ATi sends you back.

By the way is your motherboard ok?

Nope, turned off the computer before I left.. and it's a single rooms dorm so no one fiddled around with my computer or anything while I was gone.

The motherboard seems fine
