I just put in a Radeon 9800 Pro and been playing (cs:s) on a 1280 res with AA 6x and it gets choppy in some areas in games, is it because the higher the graphics quality the more memory i need? i got only 512mb (Dual Channel) is that enough?

additional texture memory on the card is required. try 2x or 4x. I supsect your textures are swaping out to system memory and thus its chopping since the system memory is much slower than your on board memory

Another possibility is that you are in fact in need of another 512 and you swapping out to the hd and getting the same anomolee.

Finaly , a hd that is going south will cause that abiration. Do an HD diagnostic as well

I'm afraid the 9800 Pro isnt 'high end' anymore so your not going to get the performance on CS:S you want... Sorry but that's just the way it is.
