How can you separate audio output?

I would like to know if it's possible to run ventrilo on my headphones and all other audio on my speakers. My sound card is an x-fi xtremegamer and i use the 3.5 mm jacks for both headphones and mic.

Seems I'm gonna need another output method, since I guess the x-fi can't separate audio signals.

Would my x-fi play nicely with the onboard sound enabled?

lol meh creative. My best friend actually does what you're talking about. He plays vent and games in one thing and sends his music from winamp / winmedia player etc to a set of speakers sitting on his desk. I'm not exactly sure how he does it but it does work. I know he does it in Linux (Ubuntu / Fedora) I'm not sure if he does it in windows too.
