How can I slow down my system?

Crusader, Doom, etc. All the old games that run at Mach 12 on a new system. I'll boot off a floppy into DOS and play my games to my heart's content. But... how can I get them to normal speed?

I'm thinking of underclocking my system. However, I'm afraid of what might happen. Right now, I'm running @ 14 x 220FSB. If I want to play a game at, let's say 166mhz, I'd have to lower my FSB to 12. Now, I don't know if the FSB can even GO that low, and if it can, what would that do to my PCI timings? Any ideas?

I've tried fooling around with Mo'Slo, or whatever that program's called. It doesn't work for me. If there's any other possibilities, I'm all ears. Someone help me. =\

There's a program called "Abandon Loader" that works quite well. Nice little slider bar for CPU speed adjustment, even has a plugin for DOS Sound emulation. It's pretty good about finding EMS/XMS memory too. I don't have the link lying around, I'm sure you can Google it up. I was using the program to play X-COM and Master of Magic, worked just fine.

X-Com, now that was a fantastic game for its day. I remember going over to a friend's house almost everyday just to spend an hour playing it.

I guess Farcry and Battlefield Vietnam will have to suffice for now. :D

Go turn off (disable) your L1 and L2 cache in the BIOS. That will slow it down.

Why not put together a killer DOS rig? There are several cheap computer stores in my area that carry complete 166 PC's for 15 bucks. Might be something fun to do :)

That's one of my plans for this summer.
I've got a bunch of old DOS games just sitting around.
Perfect General 2, pure gaming goodness.

I've got an old 486 if you wanna use that. with like less than a gb HD

I've got an older 200mmx sitting around that i am going to use.

Just gotta remember back to my autoexec.bat and config.sys days.

Some people seem to think it's odd that I have one computer solely to play old games.
