How can i share an entire PC temp. among the network.

I have about 4 pcs in my house and we just replaced my gf's pc. Shes gonna need some files from her old pc, but isnt sure where they are. I connected her old pc to the network, but dont know how to share the PC. I can see it in the workgroup, but dont how to share it on the network.

Although you may need to turn off simple file sharing ( assuming xp ), as well as set an admin password so you can log in.
 
what OS is the GF's PC? you could also just share the entire HDD and allow the "everyone" group full access.

Or you could just pull the HDD out and hook it up to the new PC.
 
Im the only one running XP.

I was able to share the files on the old pc in vista. Everyone can see the avaiable/shared files, however we cannot gain access. It says "access denied, please contact your system admin"

go figure.
 
install ultranvc server on her pc, and then uvnc viewer on the pc she wants to use to access her pc and it will bring up the desktop of her pc and she can do anything she wants, just like she was actually sitting at the pc.
