Okay, my motherboard is out of USB headers, there is only one of the standard 9 pin + key USB headers but there are two of the white 5 pin style headers.

Here's the pinout diagram:

Is it possible to convert a USB header plug designed for the standard header to fit on the 5 pin header here? Would I need to move wires around? Which pins correspond to which? They seem to match up if I connect the header backwards. Is it safe to plug it straight in?

Its hard to understand what you mean by plugging it in backwards but that doesn't matter just make sure you have the correct pins in the correct spots and it will work fine. Match the pins where they are on the standard connector to the other connector.

VCC=USBPOWER
Data0/1- = USBD-
Data0/1+ = USBD+
GND=Ground
