here's the deal. I just synced my iPhone with Outlook so it saved all of my contacts on the phone. I would like to be able to save all the Outlook contacts as an Outlook format file that I can export and save on my thumb drive should I need to reformat some day.

I see there are a few different file formats to export on, but I don't know which way I should go. hopefully someone has an easy answer to my question.

I use Drag and Drop and works without issues all the time, if its Outlook express, backup the .wab file.

.pst if you want to export.

it should be here:

C:\Documents and Settings\**whatever**\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

you will need to turn on hidden files and folders if you have not done so.

Yep, exporting to a .pst is probably the best way. I use this method anytime I rebuild a machine and need to move the Outlook info to the new machine. It's one simple file, and it includes all or some of your entire mailbox, depending on what you choose to include.

Nice to see you found your way back to the OS forum, ozziegn.
