How best to install a crossfire setup....

Hi all,
So I'm getting a 6870 back from RMA and I'm about to reformat my computer. I've reading about ideal methods of installing the drivers for crossfire:
1. Install GPU #1
2. Install drivers
3. Install GPU #2

Is this the best way to go?

Just install both videocards and then install the drivers. Install the drivers after you have updated your OS and after you installed your chipset drivers.
 
What is the preferred order of events after a reformat, out of curiosity?
 
Can say from (fps) experience to (physically)install all GPU's before powering up the system-reformat, format or brand swapping apply here. As far as that 1st instruction doubtful from a logical standpoint considering the CCC drivers "detect gfx hardware" on install. GL~
 
You can put both cards in then install drivers. There is no reason why you would have to put one card in, install drivers, then put the second card in.
 
I upgraded to a second and when I powered up I got into windows im assuming and the monitor never got a signal. After 5 minutes I just restarted and everything was fine.
