Does anyone have a socket PGA370 cpu sitting around that I can borow? (something slower than 600 or so.

I got an intel mATX CA810e mobo(never used, that my boss threw out), and I want to upgrade the bios on it so it can take a 1ghz cpu.

The board only has 4 pci slots and I wanna see just how badass a 1ghz cpu can get.

I plan to put in a:
Soundblaster 5.1 digital sound card
nVidia 6150 pci video card
4port SATA2 pci card.

And 2-256mb PC100 Crucial memory sticks. Which should leave 1 pci slot open for future expansion. Maybe a tv tuner card like the pvr-350???

I have a celeron 633 you can have for the cost of shipping, if you can use it.

a 1GHZ CPU is never gonna be "badass"

1ghz was a good benchmark. My laptop runs at 800mhz (clocked down) and is perfectly usable.

To the OP.. get a pvr-150, cheaper and they work better. Drop mythtv on the puppy and you've got a good htpc setup, for free! That nv card should be able to play back mpeg2 (which the pvr series records at) using xvmc using almost no cpu. So a 1ghz proc would work fine
