Just got my core 2 system up and running yesterday, E6700 at stock settings on a stock heatsink, between installing drivers and windows updates i poped open core temp and it reported a temp of 48C, the system wasnt idle but wasnt under a very heavy load, ive seen people report 38C but thats with the artic freezer cooler, think those temps are ok for a stock heatsink? I applied some OCZ Ultra paste and removed the thermal pad before intallation.

Thanks

temps will vary depending on the airflow in your case and the abient room temp.

My room gets warm and with my system stock E6700 was doing 32c i think and then it would warm up slowly to under 40 while i was doing things. This is all with a Zalman 9500.

Once i overclocked it i was hitting 45c at 3.2ghz and right now at 3.3Ghz its at 47 while on firefox and after counter strike its at 52/4c

once winter is here and my room is colder ima OC more :D
