I am lookin to go 1920x1200res x 3 monitors with the new 5870 VideoCard to play WOW and a few other games. Most really high quality 24" LCD's have been selling for like $500-$600, that is just too much for me, I am looking to spend in the $299=$349 range and found these two, what is your opinion on these for gaming ?

Get one of these Asus VW246H or VW266H. Great price and can't beat amazon's return policy. I got the 26" and love it for what I do on my computer.

Yeah the 25.5" 1920x1200res looks like a sweet deal, and much cheaper than the Dell and Samsung's out there. I know you get what you pay for, but I am no audiophile or freak about the perfect image, as long as games look sweet that's I want and it has rich deep colors.

How does this Asus 26 match up with the 25.5? For 30 bux more I thought at least it's worth a look. It's full 1080p. I'd be using this for GIS cartographic/cad work with a healthy dose of gaming thrown in on the side.

Most of the 25/26" LCD's coming out now are the the 1900x1200 versions of the 23"/24" LCD's which are going to the 1080 format. Depending on what you use it for, you might not be gaining anything by getting the larger display. OR, maybe the larger one is really what you need.

I'm a bit late on the scene but on well.

Zorachus I would be careful with the Samsung 24" 2443BWX. I bought 3 of them during a Bestbuy Clearance last Janurary. The first trip two of the LCDs had multiply dead/stuck pixels. So I took them back and exchange. That time I had even more dead/stuck pixels. So I had to drive across town to another Bestbuy and change. Once again I had more dead/stuck pixels but this time they were smack in the middle of the monitor.

The last transaction I went to a newly built Bestbuy and I was golden.

I guess it could have been a bad batch or an angry QA at Samsung. But I wouldn't buy that LCD again unless it is at a B&M store where I can exchange easily. Online retailers usually have a dead pixle policy. So even if you have one or two... you going to be stuck with it.

I's go with the Samsung, as long as it doesn't come with dead/stuck pixels, you will love it

What is OP going to do if he does get dead/stuck pixel? Almost all online retailers have a dead/stuck pixel policy. Newegg has a terrible one where you can 5 or 6 dead pixels and your stuck with it.

I know ASUS provides dead pixel free policy on the models listed so far in this thread.

I seen the ASUS VW246H, VW266H, and VK266H in person and they are much better than the Samsung 2443BWX. I got rid of my Samsung 2443BWXs and never look back.
