Hey about to buy a new computer..check out the General Hardware for the specs if you care to see or have any input...

I am thinking about getting a new monitor..at the moment i have a 16inch Trinitron thing from sony..

How does this one look...

I was looking at this one and one of the viewsonics...The viewsonics are a bit cheaper..but when you add the Shipping it costs about the same. This monitor is FREE shipping from newegg!

Invar Shadow Mask is a CRT technology - it's a plate with a bunch of holes on it, and the CRT beam hits the holes and the light that gets through creates the image on screen.

The other CRT technology if aperture grille, used in Trinitron tubes and Mitsubishi Diamondtron tubes.

I personally don't like the Samsun 955DF. I used several of them on the linux machines at college, and quite frankly, it was blurry as hell and colors were washed out.

I think the best 19 inch shadow mask monitor is the Viewsonic G90F+, IMO.
