How about a 3600+ X2?

I hope so, I have a SD 3700+ but would like to go to a x2 3800+ but I also need to upgrade my video card, and do not have enough money to do so at the moment.

um isn't the x2-3800+ already 2.0GHz, 512KB/ core ?
Technically, it could still have been correct.
Athlon64 3400+: 2.2GHz, 512KB L2, s939
Athlon64 3500+: 2.2GHz, 512KB L2, s939

Difference: 3400+ was limited to a 4x HTT multiplier, for 800MHz stock instead of 1GHz.

I doubt they will make a dual core cpu with 256kb cache on it. It wouldn't be cost effective since they would have to turn a whole another line just to put these chips together while taking a chip that dosn't quality for a 3800+ but will run perfect at 1.8ghz (like opeteron 165) then you might have something that will be cheap to produce.

I don't think they need to do anything more when these prices happen. Of course, I'd like to get K8L, rev. g, etc....but those prices will tide me over :)

Dang, Im definatly going to have to get a x2 3800 then when those prices drop.

There is a chance AMD will release a 3600+ X2 (2Ghz, 256k*2) to compete with Intel's huge price cuts and the new 2.8 and 3.0 PenD's.
i wouldn't be surprised to see it marketed as a sempron

It will be Athlon X2. Remember, there are Turions X2's with 2x256kb L2 cache. So a 3600+ won't require a totally new line of chips, as psychoace indicated.
