Well while I do think Johnson should get a shuttle, being as it was a major influence with the space program, they don't launch from there, they communicate with space shuttle and train there, but that was basically due to a massive earmark that was pushed through congress way back in the 60s. There really is no reason why that space station needs to be outside of Houston. That said they have a Saturn V rocket there, as well as Apollo 19s lander and capsule.

Washington DC was a no brainer, although the Enterprise should be the one to be there.. hell economically they wouldn't need to move it!!!

Kennedy again is a no brainer since that's where everything takes off.

LA & NYC I think are decent choices because if anything they're around large enough population and tourist centers such that the shuttles can get maximum exposure there, which in Houston I doubt they would. Everyone who got denied are crying foul, mostly due to potential revenue sources they're not going, only JSC and the people of Houston have any real reason to be upset, but then again, its not that big of a deal.
 
Why is New York getting a shuttle? Florida and Texas and then California should have been that way in that order.

No, it would be Cape Canaveral Fla where all the launches happen.

Houston is synomous with fuckups....like Apollo 13. :p

I don't I've think I've seen a lot of support for funding space programs from conservative types much either these days. It's not a priority for anyone these days with our current budget problems.
 
i think newyork is a pretty good choice...the intrepid museum is an awesome floating piece of history. it will be cool to see a shuttle next to a lockheed a-12 (sr-71 blackbird predecessor).

check out this huge panorama pic of the intrepid museum and that badass a-12 on the left...i still think it looks cooler than anything we currently have in service.

I am torn, I love texas, but I hate houston.

Now, if Dallas had been in the running I would be pissed off we didn't get one.
