hours for testing cpu on Prime95

Overnight at least. I used to let it run all night and then next day while I'm at work. If it wasn't running when I got home, it wasn't stable.
 
yeah if its just a quick test, maybe try OCCT or smth; if this is a stock stability test, then id say 12 hours is fine. ive had prime errors in the 12th, 13th hour before when im overclocking.. so with a good OC you gotta take it to 16+ hours. thats when i know for a fact it'll run whatever i throw at it for however long.
