What is the absolute hottest temputure that a GPU can get/handle befor shutting down.

Does it depend on the quality of the GPU itself?
Or the brand?

Just curious
Thanks

No, it doesn't depend on the brand. It does depend on the chip itself of course. Some chips are better overclockers than others, just like some chips handle heat better than others. Still, the usual threshold for a GPU throttling down, is around 105-115ºC, so if you see a GPU reach temps around 100ºC and above, something is definitely wrong.

The chips can probably go to about 105-120C (depending on the specific series of cards) before you'll start seeing permanent damage. At that point, they usually have automatic thermal throttling kick in to prevent that. As a rule of thumb, it's good to keep your temps under 100C for every day use to ensure stability.
