over the past 3 days my temps have been alot hotter then usual.
i have used canned air on my hs, stock cooler.
i dont know the problem.

heres 2 recent pics, these r loadtemps, idel temps have been hotter too.

normally the red and grey, core 0 and core 1, never go past 46. and green, cpu, never goes past 52.

my room temps only went up 1 degrees, i dont think that would cause this.

any ideas?
 
Those temps look normal if you're using the supplied stock cooling (from what I've seen from HSF benchmarks).
If you slap on a new HSF (Thermalright ultra 120, Tuniq tower), your temps will go way down.

And what HSF paste are you using? Is it spread evenly across the proc? Have you tried reseating it?
 
artic silver 5 and i have not tried reseating it. last time i tried to reseat it was very hard to get the 4 pins into the mobo.
and the paste is set as the directions told me.

i was wondering if i should spend the money and get a new hs.
 
It's cheaper trying to re-seat the HSF first, see how that affects the temps and then think about getting an alternative. Yes, stock HSF is not the most efficient cooling device but it's sufficient for most purposes (obviously, oc'ing ain't one of them :) )

The pins are hard to go in if you don't twist them right way before inserting the HSF. So what you need to do is to see how the pins work and figure out what was wrong the last time. I've had problems with it, too, but once I figured out the mechanics, it was easy ;)
 
Unless I missed it, you didn't indicate:

- whether you are overclocking,
- what your fan speed/rpm setting is (or the bios setting), or
- what your room/case temperature is.

So how can you compare!

I have an overclocked e6600; see me signature for rpms and temps at room (72) temp.
