Hotswap

i'm considering purchasing 2 sata hard drives for a client and putting them into a raid 1 array for redundancy. however, i want the client to be able to remove one of the drives to take home with them nightly without stopping the server. Anyone know of a way to do this? I was thinking of just getting an enclosure but i don't know if that will let me hot swap the drive out. Does anyone know?


Another method would be to have a small server with two drives in a raid 1 array with hotswap instead of a computer, if anyone knows of something like this. Thanks!

for fully supported hotswap Id use SCSI
no ifs ands or buts

considering its a client

OS has problems even if the enclosure\spec doesnt

actual SATA implementation has been less than ideal
if you do go that route, extensive testing is inorder

well it says hotswap, but that often isnt the case, most removable racks say that
while often you need specific support from the controller to actually implement it
research and test
