Do you download 8.6 then apply the hotfix or just download the hotfix and install it by itself?

My first ATI card since my 9600XT is due to arrive wednesday.

Visiontek HD 4870.

Also, any word on when they are going to have an actual driver on the website for this card?

I just changed out my whole system and sold off all my nvidia stuff and hadn't heard of all these issues.......I just can't imagine releasing a card without actually having drivers for it. sheesh

Just download and install the hotfix, it's a full driver release...

Cats tend to come out around the middle of the month, so I would assume Cat 8.7 should be out any day now...

For now, the Hotfix driver is the one to use. There's a newer "Beta" driver floating around, but many who tried it experienced lots of problems. The Hotfix driver is not "beta" - dunno who they haven't made it easier to find on their website. Looking forward to the official 8.7 release..maybe they have some nice performance improvements in store :)
