Does anyone know how to actually hook up an xbox or the likes to one? it appears they use a different standard or something as the good old ch3 doesnt work. Is there a modulator that would work?

I'm sure there's a way, but honestly, with the amount of pr0n that gets watched on hotel televisions by lonely businessmen, I'd worry about my Xbox catching something...

Every hotel I've ever stayed in around the country in the past few years has standard RCA inputs.

most i've been to have RCA inputs. the odd one will have a glued coax cable..

Or they will have the spinner (tamper) sleeves on the cables that require a socket tool to get the cables on or off with.

As for the channels, it is a normal set (mostly). The hotel may have the 3 and 4 channel removed or locked out from the normal channel list.

I would be careful with tampering with the TV in better hotels, the cable line has an alarm which alerts either security or the front desk when it is no longer attached to the TV set. You will have someone standing at your door wanting to know what the hell you did with the hotel's TV...then you can explain about the X-box...I'm sure they will understand :p

the reason i ask about this is in the past i have have tried rf modulators (for the dreamcast) with no success, it seems that they use a slightly different rf tech.

I think they make it incompatible on purpose- they don't want you playing your own console, they want you paying to watch their pr0n.

They are trying to get rich, but alot of times at some hotels they have the standard 3 ports for your xbox. I see people hooking them up all the time at LANs.

you should not have probs connecting it to the tv, jsut find modulator.
i used to work in a hotel and the tv's there had 2 ports hooked up, one was for cable and another for data, and there was a little black box on top with joystick to it.
Lodgenet was provider.
And in the closet, they had like 100 vcrs loaded with movies and porn.

you could always ask the guy at the desk (it wouldn't hurt)
