Hot XFX boards?

Does anyone else have cooling issues with an XFX board? I got this board a while back and had a chip on it that was the wrong voltage and then switched it to the correct one but it still runs hot even with a cooler master v8 on it... idles around 110-115 F . I have a cooler master case with 8 120mm fans in it so plenty of air passes through the case... is anyone else having similar issues???

What board? What chip is getting hot? How are monitoring those temps? What voltage are you putting to it? What are the rest of your specs?

I'm gonna take a guess that it's a 680i or 780i based board?

Do you mean that the board itself/chipset is running hot or the CPU?
Are you just going by what it says in the BIOS? What do the heatsinks actually feel like to touch?
If CPU, check you've mounted the cooler securely.
I know you said you have plenty of fans, but see what happens if you run with the case panel off - if that's much better, there's a problem with case ventilation.
 
its the 750a board and its my CPU chip thats running a bit warm... Im running a 3ghz AMD 64 x2 Phenom in it. Im monitoring the temps with Speedfan and Sandra Lite. I havent changed any voltage settings from the BIOS for overclocking or anything. I know the heat sink is on securely... i used to have a Zalman Orb heatsink on it before the Cooler Master V8 and it ran about the same temp. I pulled the case out from under the desk and popped the door off. It seemed to help a bit but only dropped a couple degrees. I just installed a tornado 6000 rpm fan and hooked it up to a fan controller and mounted the fan on the bottom of the case pointing straight up and that seemed to help a bit more... dropped it close to 10 degrees while idle on the desktop. So ventilation seems to play a big role in it. I just used to have another board with the same chip in it earlier this year in the same case and it ran about 10-15 degrees cooler than this with a much smaller heatsink... thats why im suspecting that this board just runs hot. Just wondering if anyone else out there using and XFX board seems to have a similar issue. Normally the temp sits around 110-118 or so depending on what im doing... but my old board it ran around 90-95 doing the same things. With that fan in the bottom its sitting at a chilly 88 so im loving that but this fan is very loud... sounds like a vacuum cleaner... so its very annoying. One perk is that my video card runs a bit cooler with the fan running too.. but still... very loud :-(
 
Sounds like you need more case fans. Or at least better ones. How many exhaust and intake fans are on the case? Where are they located?
