I was thinking about grabbing a new PSU for my Home Server Upgrade, great reviews convinced me to just do it.

Any coil whine with these platinum units.

I would say little to zero. If I get ~6 inches from my SS-760XP2 I can hear it if the case side is off, it's in hybrid mode and the fan isn't running. I cannot hear that my SS-520FL2 is running no matter what.

Great price, the same price I paid 6 months ago when they had a promo and MIR which actually showed up.
Solid unit rail wise, no coil whine and with the hybrid fan selected the fan does not even run until around 40% load.
The best bang for the buck, still amazes me why it has not sold more and why it always seems on heavy discount.

What they really need is a 550 and even a 450 version of this model for those who are not running high end GPU's.

They have them. The platinum fanless units are SS-400FL2, SS-460FL2, and SS-520FL2. I have the 520 for my server and I love it.

Been looking for a nice deal on psu for my brother's build, and this was just too perfect to pass up. I'm stoked to finally get to play with a Seasonic unit :D.

Technically this is true although not the XP model line.

I still would rather have a fan "just in case" you needed it then no fan at all.

Odd thing is those fanless units still cost way too much compared to units with a fan, go figure.

As all the new Seasonic's appear to be made for bottom cases if you still are rocking a top case your out of luck, the wiring is backward. I found this out when I installed the 660 into a Antec Solo case, it was just not right.

Plus top cases use the PSU fan to help exhaust rising hot air, no fan would make for stagnant hot air in the PSU.
